What is Trekking?

Trekking was derived from Afrikaans word trek. Trekking is an activity in which people take multi-day hiking trips through rural, often rugged territory. Trekking is combination of hiking and walking activity in which people take multi-days trips in rural, on development area. In another words, Trekking is making a journey/trip on foot, especially to hike through mountainous areas often for multiple days and along lovely mountains villages and enjoying nature and/or close contact with people in remote mountain villages where lifestyle sometimes is unchanged since many generations.

Trekking is also done in risky mountain areas so it will help to gain more adventurous build up capacity to the trekkers. Many people who are trekkers engage in longer trips through entire regions of the world, using trekking as a way of getting from place to place. This often allows trekkers to interact with nature while doing things such as climbing a rock wall or navigating through a mountain range. Trekking can be done anywhere in the world. Certain areas are particularly popular with trekkers; including mountainous regions such as the Himalayas in Asia. Trekking is undertaking a long journey on foot mostly in places where no means of transport is available. Some people trek as a hobby by visiting various popular trekking routes. The Himalayan routes are famous for attracting a large number of trekkers. Typical trekking regions in Nepal are Annapurna, Dolpo, Langtang, Manaslu, Kangchenjunga, Mount Everest.
